What experience do you have in a supervisory role in a clinical setting?

I stepped into a formal clinical supervision role in 2023 after years of supporting colleagues and students in both public and private mental health settings. My clinical foundation spans inpatient, community, medicare (Better Access to Mental Health) and NDIS-funded services, and I have previously held a clinical team lead role, offering clinical supervision and support to other therapists navigating NDIS and mental health caseloads. Supervision is a natural extension of my passion for supporting other therapists to grow, reflect, and thrive- and I deeply value the opportunity to walk alongside others in this amazing yet challenging profession.

How do you stay current with best practice in the field of healthcare?

Ongoing professional development is one of my core values. I take a strategic and intentional approach to CPD that supports both clinical depth and broad professional engagement. This includes:

  • Participating in a supervision group focused on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Engaging in regular individual clinical supervision for my own practice

  • Attending local and national professional meetings, including:

    • Occupational Therapy Australia events and interest groups

    • Vic Park Mental Health Professionals Network (MHPN)

    • Adult and Adolescent ADHD WA Network

  • Staying active in professional reading, including journal articles and research relevant to OT, mental health, and neurodivergence

  • Connecting regularly with the wider OT and allied health community

I believe that supervision should support lifelong learning- not just skill-building, but also reflection, meaning-making, and staying in touch with why we do what we do.

What populations do you work with, and what areas do you specialize in?

My clinical expertise is in adult and adolescent mental health, with a special interest in working alongside neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, Autism and other psychosocial disabilities. I have worked extensively with people experiencing trauma, emotional dysregulation, and co-occurring physical and mental health conditions.

I bring a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented lens and integrate a range of psychotherapy frameworks into my work including DBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory.

How would your supervisees describe your approach to supervision?

It is my hope that my supervisee’s leave our sessions with a sense of clarity, confidence and inspiration to take to their role as a therapist . I offer a safe space where you can be honest about what’s working and what’s not without fear of judgment. My approach blends:

  • A strong focus on values and ethical practice

  • Tailored guidance that respects your learning style

  • Space for emotional reflection and developing self-awareness

  • Honest, constructive feedback balanced with genuine support

My goal is to help you feel confident in your therapeutic identity, while building a sustainable career grounded in your strengths, values, and vision. While you may come to supervision as an occupational therapist, you are a human first — and I believe effective supervision honors both your professional growth and your personal wellbeing.
